Crain's List TAG as the Second Largest Black Owned Business in Southeastern Michigan

For the third year in a row, TAG Holdings is listed as number two on the Detroit Crain's List of Largest Black-Owned Businesses. In 2008 TAG came in at number three.

TAG Holdings Completes Acquisition of Barton Manufacturing

With the 100 percent acquisition of Barton Manufacturing, TAG Holdings takes another step in the diversification of its customer base. The company also gains capabilities and capacities needed to further exploit opportunities in growth markets.

Barton Manufacturing is a Tier 1 supplier providing metal fabrication and precision machining of large weldments to Fortune 100 companies. Founded in 1993, the company serves the mining, construction and road development industries.

Under the new ownership, Barton Manufacturing will retain its headquarters and manufacturing presence in Decatur, Ill and its management will have the autonomy to execute on its business plan under the strategic direction of the TAG management team. The company will remain true to its core values of quality and competitive pricing as it expands market share within industries currently served, and expands its presence in new markets.

TAG Holdings Named to Black Enterprise Magazine's 2011 Top 100 List

Based on 2010 revenue, TAG Holdings came in at number five on the 2011 Black Enterprise 100, a list of the nation’s largest Black businesses. TAG Holdings has made the list every year since 2003 when it debuted at position 63.

The chairman and CEO of TAG Holdings, Joseph B. Anderson, Jr., initially spent time among the ranks of the Black Enterprise 100 in 2000 coming in number 78 with Chivas Industries, LLC. The automotive supply company which Anderson has since sold, grossed $34 million.

Black Enterprise magazine began ranking the nation’s top black-owned businesses in 1973. The publication develops rankings by gathering information from government agencies, professional organizations, industry associations, business information services, entrepreneurs, and corporations. Companies must be at least 51% black-owned and fully operational for the previous calendar year to qualify for inclusion on the BE 100 list.

TAG Becomes a Minority Owner in a Restructured A&D Technologies

A&D Technologies, LLC, owned by TAG Holdings since March 2003 completes a corporate restructuring. The moves makes TAG a minority owner.

Sale of Automotive Companies Fulfils TAG's Vision and Positions the Company for Future Growth

TAG’s recent sale of its modular assembly group to a long-time manager, signals the company’s commitment to a product portfolio that is broadly positioned across many platforms. In addition, the transaction marks the achievement of the corporate vision which states:
The vision of TAG is to create an entrepreneurial environment that will lead to a legacy of business asset ownership within the minority community that will generate success opportunities in subsequent generations.
The acquisition of the modular assembly group, composed of three automotive supply companies, by the former TAG employee, makes the new owner of the companies one of the largest business owners in the state of Ohio.

Throughout its history, TAG has operated from a position of financial strength. The increased financial strength gained from the sale of the three companies positions TAG to gain the capacity and capabilities necessary to provide a robust range of products and services to the aerospace, defense, construction and medical industries.
